Open to 5C faculty/staff who are interested in working collaboratively across 5-C campuses and across disciplines to study environmental issue(s) in East and/or Southeast Asia. Research Labs will produce at least one academic product, such as a working paper, article, book, art piece, etc.

Funding for two Research Labs, composed of four faculty/staff, are available each year for research activities starting academic year 2018-2019. Each Research Lab will receive: $10,000 for stipends, and $15,000 in support (for supplies/travel/funds to hire students as research assistants. We do not wish to fund food-related expenses unless they are related to travel).

We look to fund Research Labs that meet the guiding principles of EnviroLab Asia, especially cross-disciplinary and cross-campus collaborations.

Research Lab participants will be asked to partake in assessment activities, and other reporting to the Henry Luce Foundation, which supports EnviroLab Asia.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, and strongly encourage applicants from the Sciences and/or non-Asian Studies backgrounds.
